Learn Basic Principals
To Beginner Riding
Beginner Horse Riding is perfect for those with minimal horse experience. Our beginner students may have only participated in guided trail rides or rides where their horse was led with a rope. At this stage, they are still building confidence and are not yet adept at controlling a horse independently. However, our program is designed to guide the rider through this journey, beginning with barn training and gradually empowering students to ride confidently and independently.
Beginner
In the Beginner Level, we focus on skills such as:
• Horse Safety: how to safely approach, walk around, and interact with a horse on the ground.
• Basic Riding: Confidently starting, stopping, and steering at a walk.
• Riding independently at a walk, without a lead rope
• Introduction to trotting and posting.
What We Teach
We focus on teaching horsemanship and western riding both on the ground and in the saddle. Students learn everything from basic grooming techniques, barn work, and saddling to advanced riding for sorting, barrels, poles, trails, and more.
Lessons are held in small groups tailored to the student’s age and skill level. This allows us to work individually with students increase their knowledge, skills, and confidence so that they become safe, competent, well-rounded riders and horse handlers.
