What is expected from applicant?

All Applicants:

Dedicated to youths/horses, hard worker, tons energy/fun, Excellent character, honest, responsible, integrity and adaptability, willingness have fun in all activities!
We are searching for counselors who are wholesome role models, share common values and are dedicated to youths.
Assisting and/or leading on or off-ranch trips, activities, programs, and special events.
Summer Position: Must be available to work at all the overnight clinics and training.
Must pass background check

Reminder plan arrive 15 min before schedule time so you are ready. (traffic etc.)

2024 Summer Schedule

Summer Schedule:

Training Day- Saturday June 1st 8:00-11 a.m.

June (2 weeks) - T, W, F – June to help prep/horses.

Tuesdays: 7:00 A.M.-1:00/1:30 P.M.
Wednesday: 7:15 A.M.-1:00/1:30 P.M.
Friday: 7:15 A.M.-12:00/12:30 P.M.

July – 1 week- Tuesday- Saturday 3 pm (Int/Advance Overnight)

Lesson program may vary slightly from school year

Part of the summer (June & early July) weekday (Usually morning till early afternoon).

Barn & Horse Help:

During week early mornings & or evenings help horses
Weekends on occasion

Some training before summer starts will be required. (April-June) if applicant lives out of area let ranch director know so we can schedule.

Dates required: Days: June 2 weeks (3 days per week) & Overnights: July 9-13
- June Program - see website for posted dates.
After applicant approved - more details schedule will be provided.
If there is conflicting date, please let us know when you apply.

Additional dates in summer may be asked for observing or training/other programs Help with throughout summer with lessons (June-August)

Sample Lesson Schedule -During the School Year

This M&M Ranch general sample lesson schedule: During the school year

Saturday (2 Sat/month) – Youth lessons
Friday (1-2 evening/month) – Youth or Adults lessons
1-2 Wed or Friday/morning/month -mainly adults & home school students group lessons
On occasions may add 1 or 2 additional lessons (Ex: Tues evening/1/month or additional Friday

- We do post our lesson schedule 1 month & pending lesson dates 2-3 month ahead.

Residential/Room/Board/meals provided during overnight camp. Grow in your knowledge with horses! Have great summer experience with the youths and these amazing animals!

Summer Wrangler & Ranch Counselor Position-How to get started.

How get started?

What are some requirements?

Summer Instructor/Wrangler Ranch Counselor : (Female 18yr & up)

Ranch Riding Instructor (Female) must have extensive knowledge of horse care, riding/safety and be able to communicate effectively to campers. Applicants should also be comfortable teaching riding lessons from beginner through intermediate/advance students.

Ranch Counselor Position: (Female 18 yr & up)
No horseback riding experience necessary but must be comfortable being around horses & outdoors.

Volunteer, Internship - What to bring

Student Will Need for Riding:
□    Long pair jeans, Dress according to weather
□    Helmet ASTM/SEI certified (we do provide helmets)
□    Riding boots (Tractor Supply, Western Boot Store)
□    Refillable Water Container

Volunteer Recommend:
□    Long pair jeans at times
□    Hotter season- short., comfortable shirt
□    Boots for barn area, mud boots on occasion.
