Lesson Payments:
- Lesson agreement requires enrollment in auto-pay so that full payment is made 1st of every month and is non-refundable.
- Non-refundable deposit equal to one-month tuition required to start lessons. (Option to pay ½ deposit 1st month, remaining due by 2nd month payment)
- Lesson & Cancellation Policy – Will need be signed during enrollment.
Enrollment Packages: Payment due 1st of month. (Must enroll in auto-pay for monthly program for package price) Pay 1st month tuition along with deposit.
Plan an additional 15 minutes for each lesson to help prepare your horse.
Semi-Private: 45 min (30 min ride) (tack/groom/care of horses/riding or groundwork)

Student Will Need for Riding:
□ Long pair jeans, Dress according to weather
□ Helmet ASTM/SEI certified (we do provide helmets) - Adults have option to not use helmet with signed wavier form.

Some of what our lessons includes:
Student helps to prepare their horse for the riding lesson; including grooming and tacking-up the horse, taking care of their horse before & after the ride, therefore our lessons, time wise, might be a bit longer than the standard lesson program.
Lessons involve total horsemanship, not just riding.
- Safely learn handling horses, safety ties, catch with halter (in stalls, pasture)
- Grooming, tacking, proper care of tack
- Caring for horse; including feeding, water, mucking stalls when needed
- Riding, basic to advanced training, learning how to care for horse while riding
- Learn how to work with the horse, cleaning hooves, stretching horses
Riding areas vary: Arenas, Pasture, trail ride, bare-back, round pen work etc.

Groundwork lesson may include:
Some examples that students will learn as they advance in their level during Groundwork Lesson:
- Safely learn handling horses, safety ties, catch with halter (in stalls, pasture)
- Use of training tools- how to use.
- How to stay safe during groundwork.
- How to connect & communicate better with your horse when training.
- Movement Horse Positions: Disengage the hindquarter, backing up, moving shoulders, side passing,
- Trailer training- if horse has problems, then hour session will be required
- Desensitizing or Sensitizing
- Varied Exercises – Sending between fence, over obstacles, Surcingle, etc.
- Gaining horses respect of rider

Students that are enrolled monthly program:

- Lesson Reminder will be sent by email the day before student lessons.
- Students taking 1-2 lessons/month may need to confirm dates by email.
- Adults or Youth – are scheduled in designated classes.
- Dates are posted on the Student Lesson Page.
- Lesson dates will be scheduled 2-4 months in advance- updated on Student Schedule site.
This M&M Ranch typical lesson schedule: During School Year
- Saturday (2 Sat/month) - Youth lessons
- Friday (1-2 evening/month) - Youth & Adult lessons
- Wednesday/Friday (1-2 mornings/month) -Adults & home school students group lessons
- On occasions 1 or 2 additional lessons (Ex: Tues evening)

Regular lessons schedule posted 1 month & pending dates 2-3 month ahead.
M&M Ranch will notify by email if lessons must be canceled.
Bad Weather Policy: (For Adults) In inclement weather we might at times do groundwork, with the horses instead of riding. M&M Ranch will determine if we need to reschedule the lesson, if so, you will be contacted by email.
Bad Weather Policy: (for Youth):
In inclement weather, we will have a fun barn lesson in the covered area. May include ground teaching with horse or horse care. We do require students to still attend; there will be no make-up lessons for missing a barn lesson.

Requirement Lesson Enrollment
- Speak with M&M Ranch about lesson placement.
- Complete online enrollment form.
- Email a scanned copy of the initialed and signed Lesson Policy to M&M Ranch
- Pay the first month’s tuition and deposit.
- Sign up for auto-pay with a valid credit card if enrolling in the Lesson Program for the monthly group lesson package.

Adult Internship - FAQs
Adult Intern Student Program is opportunity to receive discounts for lessons/riding to those that qualify. This position is great for someone who wants to enhance their skills with horses is unable to afford the cost of riding/leasing a horse. It is our goal to teach younger students about the importance of responsibility, in a simulation of a real-life work experience. Limited spots.
Interested Volunteering?
Anything that needs to be done. Some examples:
Lessons/Care Horses: grooming/tacking horses for lessons; leading horses/help teach with lessons, feeding, bathing & caring for horses.
Barn chores: clean stalls/barn area, water buckets; loading & distributing hay; clean/repair tack, etc.
If you are lucky: riding/training (must qualify)
Requirements: We are looking for people who plan to volunteer on a regular basis.
- Be available 1 or 2 weekdays (a.m. & or p.m.) to help with barn chores if you are a student, you can come early before school. (Average time for barn chores 1-1 ½ hour)
- *Schedules may vary pending on applicant*
- Be available at least 2 Saturday mornings per month. And 1 or 2 Friday evenings.
- Be available help with the summer program (June & July)

We recommend doing the volunteer and training hours if Internship is on waiting list. Those that qualify during volunteering and training will be notified. As soon as a spot opens, M&M Ranch director will notify you.
Lessons are required. (2/lessons/month)
Credits for discount toward lessons do not start until after you are approved for the program.
Summer Schedule: We will post summer program dates probably by March. This sample schedule of programs.
- June (2 weeks) - T, W, F – June to help prep/horses – usually 1- 1 ½ hr. earlier
Tuesdays: 8:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.
Wednesday: 8:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.
Friday: 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. - July – 1 week- Sun-Friday 12 pm (Int/Advance Overnight)

Adult Internship Ride & Enrollment Information
Applicants who qualify can earn discounted or free lesson/ride. The volunteer program is designed to provide a fun and educational opportunity for our students/adults. We are looking for people who plan to volunteer on a regular basis. We don't accept volunteers on a casual basis because it doesn't allow time for students to learn our horses' names and dispositions, how to safely handle horses and how to ride well enough to assist us with students.
- Applicants that want to ride are expected to be competent riders, must be physically fit, comfortable riding at all gates and have some experience caring for horses.
- Some of the duties will be caring for horses, ranch chores & help with our riding program throughout year, including in the summer.
- Must be available some weekday (morning or evening) At least 2 Sat/month and during our summer riding program. Schedule may vary depending on needs, ask for more details.
- Students that qualify for the program and meet hours required each month: riding/discounts will be applied for next month’s lesson & ride times.
